About Me
Navid is the visionary founder and curator of Moozikbaz (@moozikbaz.vancouver), a dynamic platform dedicated to exploring the rich confluence of music, culture, and the Persian/Iranian community within Vancouver.
A lifelong devotion to rhythm, informed by a sophisticated background in percussion and drumming—including foundational training under Iranian master Homayoun Nasiri—shapes Navid's unique perspective. His musical journey is characterized by a global fluency, spanning genres from Persian traditional to contemporary experimental and electronic sound design. This early dedication led to acclaimed performances across Iran, honing his command of rhythm and stage presence.
Having lived in Italy, UAE, Iran, Australia, Ontario, and Quebec before anchoring in British Columbia, Navid brings a truly multicultural and global lens to his curatorial work. The core mission of Moozikbaz is to serve as an essential cultural and artistic bridge, connecting Persian-speaking audiences and the broader community to the city's vibrant live scenes and artistic pulse.
Beyond event curation, content creationand Advertising, Navid is committed to fostering meaningful dialogue, spotlighting emerging and established artists, and offering bold, thought-provoking commentary on music's evolving societal role.
